Truck lift kits
In off-road driving, truck lift kits provide ground clearance for four-wheel
drive trucks. Lift kits not only provide greater off-road abilities
but also present a very aggressive, imposing appearance. Given the weight
and forces involved, a lift kit can be very tricky to install. It is
best to either have a well-equipped shop for installation or have a
professional install the kit.
Truck lift kits can impart a very aggressive look to pickups. Not only
does a lift kit allow one to travel over higher objects, but they convey
a feeling of ruggedness and strength. Lift kits make the body of a truck
sit further off the ground so running boards or bars are sometimes necessary
to be able to climb into the truck. Some sit so high off the ground
that a small step ladder is required to access the truck.
Truck lift kits sometimes are disadvantageous to certain owners. People
who are of shorter height may find it very difficult to climb into the
body of the truck. This is not a problem for tall people. However, the
higher the lift kit, the higher the climb. Shorter people should consider
investing in a step to allow for easier access.
