Truck accessories FAQs
What is a truck cap?
A truck cap is a structure that fits over the top of a truck bed. It
provides protection from the weather and also gives security to items
placed in the bed. There are many types of caps. One may get what is
commonly called a “topper” which is a high-standing cap
that allows the driver to place material of greater height inside the
truck bed. A tonneau cover is a cap that lies flat on the bed rails
of a pickup providing protection for all equipment.
What are grille bars used for?
Grille bars are used for two purposes. Initially, they provide an enhancement
to styling. They look rugged, strong and connote durability. They also
serve a purpose in off-roading. When a truck goes through brush and
vegetation it is possible for the headlights to be broken by limbs and
flying rocks. The grille bars also protect the bumpers and grille from
being dented.
What are mud tires?
Mud tires are specifically used to gain greater traction when traveling
through slick and deep mud. Mud fills the treads of common vehicle tires
and causes them to lost traction so that sliding of the truck occurs.
The tread on mud tires is usually very deep and there are sharply defined
projections on the tires that allow them to penetrate deep into the
mud and gain traction.
What are truck tool boxes?
Truck tool boxes allow a driver to place all kinds of tools and equipment
inside a closed container that rides in the bed of the pickup. Tool
boxes offer compartments to place tools in and help a driver organize
his tools in a manner that makes it easier to access equipment. Although
tool boxes offer protection from the weather, the main purpose of these
boxes is to provide a place for the tools to be locked and secured against
theft.
