Tonneau covers
Tonneau covers for pickups solves the problems of security when hauling expensive equipment that one does not wish to be stolen or damaged and protects the equipment from the ravages of changing climate conditions. These are made so that they can be lifted to retrieve items from the bed of the pickup and then locked to provide the security one needs for carrying equipment. Improved fuel mileage is also an advantage of tonneau-style covers.
When one considers how to improve the fuel efficiency of a truck, tonneau covers serve that purpose well. Today’s trucks are not very fuel efficient, so any method of improving gas mileage is welcome. A tonneau cover makes a vehicle more aerodynamic, which changes the air flow over a truck. This change in air flow is what allows one to save gasoline.
A tonneau is one of the first considerations when one wishes to be able to lock items in the bed of a truck. Since pickups come with the bed uncovered, securing items from theft or damage is a large concern. Tonneau covers can also be painted to match the exact color of one’s vehicle.
